No. Database results and preliminary matches support research and comparison. The administering organization determines current eligibility, eligible costs, intake status, deadlines, stacking provisions and final funding decisions.
How should program information be verified?
Each program should be reviewed against the current official source before an application, material expenditure or funding decision. Canada Grants retains source links where available to support that verification process.
Where does Canada Grants obtain program information?
Canada Grants uses published government and program-administrator sources. Portions of the master catalogue incorporate information from the Business Benefits Finder dataset published by Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada.
How is open government information licensed?
The Business Benefits Finder dataset is identified on the Government of Canada Open Government Portal as licensed under the Open Government Licence – Canada. Canada Grants uses the prescribed attribution: “Contains information licensed under the Open Government Licence – Canada.”
Does the open-data licence imply government endorsement?
No. The Open Government Licence does not authorize use of government information in a manner that suggests official status or endorsement.

What is the difference between the database and advisory services?
The database supports self-directed research. Advisory services are intended for defined projects requiring program prioritization, eligibility review, source confirmation and a documented funding research approach.
How do I request a project review?
Use the Talk to a Grants Expert intake to provide high-level organization and project information. Sensitive documents and credentials should not be submitted through the public form.
How is information submitted through the website handled?
